Challenge

As the world leader in beauty, L’Oréal operates in a fast-moving global market where consumer expectations shift constantly and growth depends on the ability to replicate winning initiatives at scale.

The Consumer Products Division needed a centralized, transparent, and unifying mechanism to:

  • Identify high-value marketing, sales, and sustainability initiatives from countries worldwide
  • Give visibility to local teams and reinforce a culture of recognition and excellence
  • Replicate proven actions across regions to accelerate business impact
  • Build a shared narrative of performance, innovation, and inclusion

The stakes were high: without a structured approach, strategic initiatives risked remaining local success stories unrecognized, unshared, and unscaled.

Strategy & Goals

To transform Beauty Fast Forward into a true global performance engine, L’Oréal partnered with Yumana to build a phygital, multi-stage program able to engage more than 60 countries with consistent standards and strong governance.

The vision was clear: celebrate excellence, scale what works, and strengthen cohesion across the entire Consumer Products Division.

Yumana structured the full journey. From project submission and evaluation to voting, jury phases, and winner promotion, Yumana provides a robust innovation management software capable of managing thousands of initiatives. The platform ensured transparent, criteria-based assessments at country, regional, and global levels, and Yumana’s consulting and customer success teams supported local operations throughout the process.

The ambition was to create a comprehensive and strategic portfolio of high-impact initiatives, elevate global participation in an inspiring competitive format, and build a continuous learning loop between local experimentation and global strategic priorities.

    Countries collect and submit their strongest local initiatives across 5 categories: Products & Campaigns, Sustainable Development, Sales Activation, Consumers and Emerging Countries.
  2. Regional Selection (Cross-Country Benchmarking)
    Regional juries evaluate the best country submissions using a structured, criteria-based voting system.
  3. Global Jury (Final Awards)
    International experts select the top 3 initiatives per category, culminating in a global celebration event.
  4. Rewarding Excellence
    Winning teams are invited to participate in a Learning Expedition at CES Las Vegas, reinforcing recognition, inspiration, and continuous learning.
